Soap Opera Practice

This is my soap oper practice trailer. We based this on an episode of Hollyoaks and we aquired the script from watching an episode of Hollyoaks and picking out a section from the episode.
By making this I:

Familliarised myself with iMovie an learnt how to crop clips of film from others to create something I liked.
I learnt how to do transitions from one clip to another and make it look smooth.
I also learnt how to add non-diegetic sound to the footage and edit it in.
I learnt how to create a range of different shot types to convey to the audience which storyline was which in the trailer and I learnt how to show my knowledge of varied soaps and apply them into my trailer

If I were to improve my trailer I would:

Make sure that my shots were quicker to give the trailer a feel of a faster pace; therefore the audience would be more interested.
I would make sure that I made the storyline between Josh cheating on the two girls more clear as this isn't very noticeable in the trailer, I'd also make sure that when I was filming outside that it wasn't windy because this interfeared with the sound on the footage.
I'd make sure that the camera was more astutely placed on eye level so the audience would feel more involved with the story.
I would also elaborate on which shot types I used and vary them because I used quite alot of the same ones.
More close ups of the characters would be needed to create a feel of familliarity and clarity for the audience
